December 2008 marked the end of a long year, with some pretty testing conditions both behind us and more to come. More than ever, we need to think laterally and understand how new ideas can potentially get us out the trouble caused by old ideas. As well as the standard fiduciary practices, thinking about real and effective customer experience is at the core of how we solve this situation. Going to customers with new offerings, new ideas, better ways to serve their needs, wrapped in the reason they come to a big bank to start with (trust, security, assuredness - although even this has been shaken lately) will ensure we stay relevant, move with our customers as they progress, and keep us connected.
