This in The Age from Steve Ballmer, CEO of course of Microsoft about Google creating and releasing Android:
"I don't really understand their strategy ... if I went to my shareholder meetings and my analyst meeting and said, 'Hey, we just launched a new product that has no revenue model - yeah, cheer for me' I'm not sure my investors would take that very well, but that's what Google's telling their investors about Android," he said.
Here is the fundamental difference between an 'Old-New Economy' business like Microsoft - a slave to shareholders, a business old enough to create multiple layers of beuracracy - and a 'New-New Economy' business like Google - totally user centric, flat heirachy, customer not shareholder obsessed (at least for the moment).
Death bells ringing for Microsoft if they dont face reality.
